Endothelins are proteins that constrict blood vessels and raise blood pressure. They are normally kept in balance by other mechanisms, but when they are over-expressed, they contribute to high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart disease.
The ubiquitous distribution of endothelin peptides and receptors implicates its involvement in a wide variety of physiological and pathological processes in the body. Among numerous diseases potentially occurring from endothelin dysregulation are: several types of cancer; cerebral vasospasm following subarachnoid hemorrhage; arterial hypertension and other cardiovascular disorders; pain mediation

Du145 cancer cells Video

DU145 (DU-145) and PC3 human prostate cancer cell lines are the "classical" cell lines of prostatic cancer. DU145 cells have moderate metastatic potential compared to PC3 cells which have high metastatic potential.

The DU145 cell line was derived from brain metastasis. DU145 are not hormone sensitive and don’t express PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen)
